Tank Boosters

Tanked is all about admiring powerful tanks and the many features they have to offer. With that in mind, there are four distinct types of Tank Boosters that players should be aware of:

Rocket tank boosters shoot the wall near enemy characters. This sweeps the board of all pay symbols and enemy characters, boosting the grid by one step. Grenades are thrown at random enemy characters and, similar to the rocket, remove pay symbols in a fiery explosion.

Power drill Tank Boosters see one lucky warlord driving to the biggest cluster of matching colour symbols on the grid, removing pay symbols, wilds and enemy characters in their path. If the character with the power drill booster can’t move, they will explode instead. This removes pay symbols just like rocket and grenade boosters do. Finally, airstrike boosters hit up to three other characters and remove pay symbols in an explosion pattern.

Grid expansion

In Tanked, the grid expands from 6x6 to 9x9 in three different ways:

• Rockets
• Barrel bombs
• Big booms

Grid expansion typically occurs in different steps rather than going straight from a 6x6 to a 9x9. However, if a barrel bomb or xBomb is hit by a tank booster, then the grid expands to its maximum size immediately.

xLoot

Each warlord in Tanked has specific coloured symbols. Payouts occur when they pick up their own symbols while travelling the grid. All characters can pick up wilds in the same manner.

Tanked was released in 2024. It takes players on an adventure into a battle between four warlords who are determined to capture the entirety of the grid. To do this, they travel around the grid in tanks firing at each other and attempting to break a variety of gems in the way. The slot feels suitably gritty for such a serious concept, and comes complete with hues of brown and a plethora of debris scattered throughout the background. Players will appreciate the dynamic and highly stylised warlord symbols as they stalk through the reels, as well as the colourful gems scattering the 6x6 grid.

Tanked’s sound design leaves something to be desired. The sound effects are droning with loud explosions. With that said, it’s not the worst we’ve heard and it doesn’t take anything away from the game. We’d categorise Tanked as an action-based game.
